MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (Oct. 28, 2015) – A S Hospitality, a division of Dexter Solutions, has been awarded the 2015 Marriott International Diversity and Inclusion Award, which is designed to recognize one of Marriott’s suppliers who has made the greatest impact on Marriott International’s diversity spend initiative. The award was announced at Marriott’s International Global Discipline Awards in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 30.

“We are delighted to recognize A S Hospitality,” said Dominica Groom, director of Global Supplier Diversity at Marriott International. “As a woman-owned supplier, A S Hospitality exemplifies a strong and dedicated business partner.

“A S Hospitality has maintained a longstanding commitment to delivering quality products and outstanding customer service across the Marriott portfolio,” Groom said. “Marriott International continues to uphold a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, specifically across our global supply chain, and A S Hospitality is a strong advocate and supporter of these efforts.”

To accept the award for A S Hospitality, Phyllis Abraham, account director, and Mark Ploucha, Dexter Solutions’ vice president of production and service delivery, were in attendance at the awards ceremony at The Mayflower in Washington, D.C.

“Being recognized by Marriott as a leader and strong supporter of the Marriott diversity initiative is very meaningful to us,” Abraham said. “We are honored to support Marriott in their growth and assist them in achieving their initiatives.”

A S Hospitality became a certified woman-owned business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council in 2014.

“Our commitment to diversity is a cornerstone of our company’s values and a key element in our unrivaled ability to meet the rapidly changing needs of our brand delivery clients,” said Dexter Solutions’ CEO Mark Zimmerman. “We pursue diversity in all its dimensions, not only within our company, but also in choosing our own business partners.”

As the brand-approved print collateral and pen provider for Marriott International, A S Hospitality’s WBENC certification has allowed Marriott International’s spend with minority-owned businesses to dramatically increase. According to Marriott, nearly 10 percent of its supply chain is comprised of women-owned business enterprises.
